Radio personality Jackie O Henderson is expanding her career with a new stint on television with Channel Seven’s Stranded On Honeymoon Island.
In a Survivor meets Married At First Sight, this reality dating television series pairs 12 “unlucky” in love couples – matched during a speed dating event.
These couples will then be dramatically stranded on a desert island “somewhere” in the South Pacific for 21 days with nothing but their wedding attire. What could go wrong?
So, what is the point of forcing these couples to reside on a deserted island? The concept is designed to help the couples build true connections away from the “distractions” and “conveniences” of modern-day.
“No devices, no distractions, and nowhere to hide, these brave couples will live and breathe their new relationship,” Seven reported in a statement.
When does Stranded on Honeymoon Island release?
After months of anticipation, Seven has finally confirmed Stranded on Honeymoon Island will premiere in June 2025 on Channel Seven and 7Plus, however, the exact date is currently unknown.
The series was first announced during Seven’s Upfront event in October 2023, with an expectation that it would release in 2024.
Where is Stranded on Honeymoon Island filmed?
According to The Fiji Times, an announcement from the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji released in 2023 revealed the filming locations for Stranded On Honeymoon Island.
Several islands in the Mamanuca Group in Fiji were closed off to ship owners, ship operators, seafarers and the public for filming. The areas included Monu Riki Island, the East side of Monu Island, East side of Tavua Island, North side of Malolo Island.
Monu Riki Island also happens to be where Survivor US filmed for a few seasons.
Who are the Stranded on Honeymoon Island contestants?
In the lead up to its release, Seven slowly began dropping the identities of the contestants looking for love in 2025. The first couple released in early June, and Seven has not revealed all the couples quite yet.
Below, TV WEEK has rounded up all the contestants going on Stranded on Honeymoon Island in the first season.
Brie & Byron
Putting their faith in the reality TV matchmakers is Brie and Byron. Byron is looking for the type of love his parents had, meanwhile Brie has never been in love and admitted “as soon as things get hard, I run.”
“I’ve been in love once, and I hope to get that feeling back,” he shared with Seven.
Georgia & Chad
Leaping into a chance at love is Georgia and Chad, the second couple to be revealed.
Georgia is admittedly still healing from heartbreak after being broken up with three days away from her wedding.
“It was like a dagger to the heart, but I want love,” she told Seven. “This is the craziest thing I’ve ever done. I’m so ready for it.”
Meanwhile, Chad is ready for a life-changing commitment.
Amy & Mike
The first couple taking the leap on Stranded on Honeymoon Island was revealed to be Amy and Mike.
Suffering heartbreak after heartbreaking, Amy hopes to find her “happy ever after.” While Mike wants to be “respected, loved and adored.”
But it wouldn’t be a reality TV show without a little complication! The pair both have strong personalities which will see them vying for control.
Sam & Jess
Sam, 31, may be seven years younger than Jess, 38, but he’s experience dating older women has made him more confident and mature. He describes himself as fit, confident and caring.
Meanwhile, Jess hopes to find someone she can she a deep, emotional connection with.
Tom & Emily
This is going to be an interesting couple considering Tom’s friends describe him as a “walking red flag.” But he hopes to break bad dating habits and settle down.
Meanwhile, Emily has been single for seven years, finding it difficult to find someone that meets her high standards.
Dani & Emanuel
Emanuel, 33, is looking for a partner that is ambitious, caring, smart, and “beautiful on the inside and out.” He has been matched with Dani, 25, who is looking for an emotionally intelligent and mature man who prioritises family.
